Acomarit and V.Ships, two of the world's leading ship management companies, are pleased to announce that after further constructive negotiations they have reached an agreement to combine their respective organizations. The combined entity will provide a comprehensive range of services, to the international shipping industry from a global network of some 20 offices employing some 1,000 personnel. The managed fleet will comprise over 600 ships which will be served by nearly 25,000 seafarers. Under the agreement, V.Ships' parent company, Vlasov Services Corporation (VSC), will acquire the entire share capital of the Acomarit Group.

Ahlmark Lines AB

Ahlmark Lines is now certified at the ISO standards for both quality and environment. Ahlmark Lines have our own office in Hull now since a few weeks back. It is the subsidiary company Ahlmark Shipping (UK) Ltd which is located at King George Dock just beside our terminal. That is the place where our vessels are discharging and the goods are being distributed to the final receivers. The step from using an agent to have our own office was natural for us because of the increasing quantities of cargo and also the same for number of calls in Hull done by our vessels. As from January 2002 we will have two sailings per week from Kristinehamn on the Lake Vanern into Hull. From Skelleftehamn we have already today weekly sailings to Hull. This means we will, during the year of 2002, be doing about 175 calls at the port of Hull including some cargoes from other loading ports. Discharged quantities are close to 400 000 tons per year, whereof about 235 000 tons are sawn timber (425 000 m3).

Alianзa Shipping

The objective of Alianзa is fully and continually to satisfy its costumers by providing maritime transportation and logistics services, operating with quality under safe conditions, and preserving the marine environment. Alianзa Navegacao & Logistica Ltda. announced today that it will commence a new service at the beginning of November, focusing on the needs of breakbulk, project and rolling cargo shippers and operating between key ports of East Coast South America, Mexico, the Caribbean and the U.S. Gulf. The service will use two multi-purpose vessels, the INTREPIDO and the INDEPENDENTE, operating on a 25-day rotation and connecting Rio de Janeiro, Sepetiba, Santos, Paranagua, Itajai, Puerto Cabello, Kingston, Veracruz, Tampico-Altamira and Houston. It will commence with the October 30th call of the INTREPIDO at Rio. According to Alianзa’s North American General Manager J.R. Salgado, the ships are specially designed to handle roll-on/roll-off, breakbulk and project cargoes as well as standard containers. Each are equipped with three 36-ton lift-capacity shipboard cranes and a combined two-crane lift ability of up to 70 tons.

Anave Spanish Shipowners' Association

ANAVE is a national organisation set up to coordinate, represent, manage, promote and defend the interests of Spanish shipowning companies. Full membership of the organisation is open to applicants, either individuals or entities, who for commercial purposes engage in shipowning activities as evidenced in the operation, on a stable and customary basis, of merchant vessels greater than 100 grt as owners in thier own right or under bare-boat charter. To this end they must have a permanent establishment in Spain or, failing this, operate vessels registered in Spain. At present ANAVE has a total of 49 Full Members and 7 Associate Members.

The founder of the Bayraktar Group. Cpt. Arif Bayraktar, started the business in his teens and manage to have a respectful carrier within the industry and in the Turkish shipping society. BC Ferries serves up to 46 ports of call on 25 routes throughout coastal British Columbia. The crossings between Vancouver Island and B.C.'s Lower Mainland can last from less than 90 minutes to two hours, depending on which run you take. Upper Lakes Group

We presently operate a fleet of 8 self-unloading bulk carriers and 13 conventional bulk carriers, most of which are of maximum seaway size. Our self-unloader fleet has a total capacity of approximately 195,000 dead weight tonnes (DWT), while the conventional bulk carriers' total capacity is approximately 350,000 DWT. Our fleet is marketed by Seaway Marine Transport, a vessel pooling partnership with Algoma Central Corporation. In 1999 Upper Lakes and McAsphalt Industries Limited formed a joint venture, McAsphalt Marine Transportation Limited, which in late 2001 will accept delivery of a newly built 11,000 tonne state of the art, double-hulled barge that will be joined to the existing tug Everlast.

Washington State Ferries is the largest ferry system in the United States, serving eight counties within Washington and the Province of British Columbia in Canada. Our existing system has 10 routes and 20 terminals that are served by 29 vessels. In fiscal year 1999, WSF carried over 11 million vehicles and 26 million people—the second largest transit system in the State. The ferry system is an essential part of the western Washington’s highway network. It provides critical links between the urban areas on the east side of Puget Sound and the growing communities to the west on the Kitsap Peninsula, as well as more rural destinations on the Olympic Peninsula. For communities on Vashon Island and four of the San Juan Islands, WSF provides the only link for automobile travel with the mainland. Besides serving as an extension of the highway system, WSF can also be viewed as an environmentally sound and highly-efficient means of mass transit. In fiscal year 1999, the system carried approximately 20,900 walk-on passengers per day, which comprised 29% of all WSF ridership.

We were founded as steamship agents at the Port of Wilmington, North Carolina November 17, 1945. The company's activities grew steadily in the following years. During February 1954 we expanded to the Port of Morehead City, North Carolina, forming Morehead City Shipping Company. This enabled us to offer full services to all our principals at both North Carolina State Ports. In June of 1992, we expanded to the port of Charleston, SC which also serves Georgetown, SC., and Port Royal.
